Any ideas to make a scrabble board have ridges to fit the letters in place?

I had one scrabble board where it had the ridges in with plastic screen type thing to hold the letters in place. I just bought a new one and it doesnt have that so the pieces keep sliding all over. I was thinking some kid of glue to make ridges or some kind of screen but that might not work, any suggestions?
